Smart Grid and Sustainable Energy Systems

Advancing renewable energy integration and grid flexibility for a sustainable future

About Me

I earned my Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) under the supervision of Prof. Zhao Yang Dong and A/Prof. Guo Chen. Before joining HKUST(GZ), I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at both UNSW and the University of Sydney, collaborating with Prof. David J. Hill and Dr. Fengji Luo. My research focuses on advancing the integration of renewable energy and flexible resources into power grids to enable low-carbon energy and transportation systems.

Research Interests

My research develops advanced AI, optimization, and game-theoretic approaches for next-generation energy systems.

  • Flexible resource management in smart grids (EVs, VPPs, eVTOLs, Batteries)
  • AI-driven autonomous energy systems and bidding strategies
  • Distributed energy transactions and market mechanisms
  • Transportation electrification and low-carbon energy systems

Open Positions

We are seeking motivated researchers at all levels with expertise in Electrical Engineering, AI, Statistics, Operations Research/Optimization, Transportation, or related STEM fields:

  • Postdoctoral Researchers: Applicants should have a strong publication record in top-tier journals/conferences and demonstrated research independence.
  • PhD Candidates: We prefer candidates with prior research experience, strong academic potential, and self-motivation.
  • MPhil Students: Opportunities available in smart grid technologies and sustainable energy systems research.
  • Research Assistants: Positions open for outstanding undergraduate and master's students.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact me with their CV and research interests.
